Vivian Haney Obituary

A Glimpse of Her Life..

Vivian Tynese Haney was born to Queen E. Edwards and Thesolonia Sonny Baker Sr.  on September 21st, 1960 in Boynton Beach, Florida. She was the eldest of 12 siblings. Vivian moved to California in 1973 where she attended Yerba Buena High School.

Vivian was a loving mother to 9 children. In 1988 Vivian met and soon fell in love with Michael Haney Sr. at the Alano Club in San Jose, CA. They went on to wed in holy matrimony on February 22, 1992, in San Jose, CA. Shortly after, in 1995, they moved to Stockton, CA where they both resided until their final days.

Vivian served as a Real Estate agent helping families “Find their way home” for over 15 years. Before that, she was an Administrative Assistant for a commercial real estate agency. She loved to cook and made THE BEST Spaghetti, Gumbo, Greens, Potato Salad, and Sweet Potato Pie you’ve ever tasted. She loved her some Gospel music, laughing, and seeing and supporting her family whether it would be going to their concerts, sporting events, award shows, sleeping in line for American Idol tryouts, demo tape recording down in LA, driving across the country to Florida, you name it, she’s was down to ride. Her laugh was infectious, you could feel the joy with every chuckle. if you took her to a movie, you already knew that she was going to be the person talking at the screen! Her smile could like up the darkest of days and she lived for her Grand and Great-Grandchildren. As the saying goes, “To know her was to love her”.

Vivian accepted The Lord Jesus Christ into her life early on in life. She faithfully served as a member of New Freedom in Christ Jesus under the late Pastor Annie Pryde. She went on to become an ordained Minister and served as a Pastor for New Day Worship Center in Stockton, CA.

Vivian joins her husband Michael E. Haney Sr, her Mother Queen E. Edwards, her Father Thesolonia Sonny Baker Sr., her Brother Edward Moten, her Grandmother’s Willie Bell Harrington and Lessie Baker, and her Grandfather James Harrington Sr. who all proceeded her in death.

She leaves to carry on her memory her 9 children: Walter Davis Jr. (Derekia) of Stockton, CA, Wakisha Bobos (Douglas) of Elk Grove, CA, Taranisha Smith (Gyasi) of Ceres, CA, Terrell Haney of Stockton, CA, Michelle Prunty Bean of Modesto, CA, Michael Prunty (Tasha) of Monterey, CA, Anthony Leyba (Tamara) of Fresno, CA, Kenya Haney of Fresno, CA, and Ronelle Haney of Stockton, CA, 29 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
