Sheila Sharon Willis was born in Oakland, CA on January 1, 1954, to the union of her parents Carl Willis and Violet Bartlow Willis.
Sheila attended Markham elementary, Frick Junior High and El Cerrito High schools. After high school, Sheila left the Bay Area and went to Los Angeles where she lived and worked for several years. After returning to her home in Castro Valley she enrolled in Laney College and graduated with a degree in Cosmetology. Sheila was a Fragrance expert, literally, she worked for numerous fragrance companies at various higher-end department stores throughout the San Francisco Bay Area; first as a fragrance model then later as a fragrance ambassador. Sheila had a unique talent and could identity nearly every ingredient in any given fragrance she represented.
Sheila was a highly creative and gifted person who loved to give gifts, and love to her family and friends. She had a contagious smile with the sweetest spirit and always had a kind and caring word to share to whomever she met. The youngest of three siblings Shiela was a loving and dedicated daughter to her mother Violet, she always made sure that her mother was well taken care of and had all that she needed, a thoughtful and loving sister, and most importantly a mother; Sheila’s love for her daughter Kimberley was fierce and uncompromising which she demonstrated often. As a single parent Sheila lovingly took on the role as both mother and father which created a special bond between the two of them that no one could separate, as small as she was, she would move mountains for Kimberley, and many times she did, she would do absolutely anything for her child Sheila was an incredibly gifted cook who could always make something extraordinary out of nothing and just as her keen sense smell in identifying fragrances, Sheila could identify every ingredient in a recipe just by tasting it. Sheila loved writing, telling stories, traveling, listening to Rock n' Roll, Jimi Hendrix and the music of Prince (who she secretly wanted to marry when she was younger), decorating for every holiday, dressing up for Halloween, playing with dolls with the little girls, shopping at Macys, hunting for vintage clothing and antiques, going to the movies with her daughter, and spending time with her friends.
In 2017 Sheila Met Walter (Wally) Malone who turned out to be the Prince (who just so happens to play bass guitar and who also can sing) that she did marry in 2018. They had a whirlwind romance just like she always dreamed of having, they traveled together, and spent all of their time together. During Sheila's illness, Wally was at her side 24/7, everyone who knew them knew they had a very special and loving bond as Wally would say "a once in a life 0time love". In her final days, it was the love of her mother, her daughter, and Wally that kept her strong. Sheila will be sorely missed by ALL who know her and who loved her, she is truly our angel now.
Sheila called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 6, 2019, she was preceded in death by her father, Carl Willis, her grandparents, Harry Frank Bartlow, Rooselie Freeman Bartlow, Henry Willis & Elizabeth Carter Willis.
