Rosie Lee was born in Texas city, Texas to her late parents Clara and Jim Jones. Rosie accepted Christ
at an early age. She met and married Leon Rice Sr., through their union seven children were born. Three
sons, Eugene, Clarence and Louis!preceded her in death.
Rosie followed her mother to California, where she settled in San Francisco. Rosie earned a certificate in
home health aide and worked for several years.
She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Mark institutional missionary Baptist church for many
years!under the leadership of Roley J. Foreman.
Rosie enjoyed singing in the choir and coordinating events in the culinary department, along with
serving!on the mother’s board. She was named, “Christian woman of the year,” in 2003.
Later in life, she met and married Eddie L. Gordon on November 24, 1979. He affectionately called her,
“Precious.”In 2008, they relocated to Manteca and due to the long distance in 2009, they became
members of second Baptist church in Modesto, under the leadership of Pastor Evins.
Rosie enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, along with her great nephew and niece.She loved cooking
and to say everyone enjoyed it would be an understatement.
Rosie knew how to make each of her children feel special. In our eyes, she will forever be!the G.O.A.T.

She leaves to cherish her memory, husband Eddie L. Gordon, three sons, Leon, Samuel and Juel Rice,
Daughter Gloria, Son in law Larnell Madison. Two sisters, Beauty Newsome!and Doris!DeVeaux, One
Brother Robert Houston, 3 step daughters, 24!Grandchildren, many great & great-great!grandchildren,
host of nieces, nephews and friends.
