Reverend Michael Anthony Leonard was born on November 7, 1958 in Louisiana to Tommie and Carrie Leonard. He made his transition from this life to Glory on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Sutter Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, CA.
Rev. Leonard accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at True Christ M.B. Church in Dallas, TX. After graduating from Quinton High School in Louisiana, he served in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge. He later married the love of this life Patricia Thomas-Leonard on November 10, 1984 in Berkeley. CA.
He attended college at Grambling State University in Grambling, LA. He also attended the Sacramento Theological Seminary and Bible College in Modesto, CA. Rev. Leonard retired from Schneider National Carriers Company in Reno, NV after working as a truck driver for many years.
Rev. Michael Leonard was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Modesto, CA under the leadership of Dr. Charles Evins Sr., where he served faithfully as an Associate Minister for 8 years. Rev. Leonard was known for his dedication to the Church, his love for Southern food, and his great love for cookies. Rev. Leonard was truly a servant of the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tommie and Carrie Leonard, and brother, Vincent Leonard.
He leave to cherish his memory his loving wife, Patricia Leonard of Modesto, CA; brothers, Tommy Leonard, Curtis Leonard (Pernetha), and Kenneth Leonard all of Texas; brother-in-law's, Rev. Alfred Thomas, and Elmira Thomas of Modesto, CA; sister-in-law's, Kathy Cann, and Shirley Smith of Modesto, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rev. Michael Leonard will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
