Paul W. Ingvaldsen Sr.

Paul W. Ingvaldsen Sr, 79, passed away on December 23, 2020 near his home in Groveland, CA.

Paul is survived by his two children; Paul Ingvaldsen II; Celeste Ingvaldsen; and half-brother Kinley Engvalson.  

Paul was born in Long Beach, CA on September 29, 1941 to Monte R. Spearman Farris and Willard Engvalson. Paul joined the Navy in 1969 as a Radarman. He served on several ships during the Vietnam war, and later onboard the USS Missouri (BB-63). After his military service, he went on to teach high school physics and biology for the Los Angeles Unified School District. After 20 years, he retired and moved to Groveland, CA. His love of teaching kept calling him back to the classroom so, he continued to teach physics in Tuolumne County during the school year.

Paul was very active in his community, he was an active member in the Young Marines, Masonic Lodge, the American Legion, Rotary Club, and the VFW. He was an Assistant Scout Master in the Boy Scouts of America. He was most active in the U.S Naval Sea Cadets, where he was an Ensign attached to the Modesto Division. He was also actively participating in church and singing in the church choir.

A private service with military honors will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery on January 12, 2021 at 11 a.m. In addition, there will be an online memorial service at a date to be determined in January.
