Millard Eugene McCreary was born in Mobile, AL on October 9, 1940, to the union of his parents Eugene Field McCreary and Lezzettie Giles McCreary.
At an early age, Millard accepted Christ and was baptized by his uncle the late Rev. Lloyd McCreary, Pastor of Thirty-Seventh Street Baptist Church, Oakland, CA.
Millard attended Oakland public schools and graduated from McCylmonds High School. He later joined the U.S. Airforce and served honorably until he was discharged. Millard worked as a production worker at Kellogg’s foods in San Leandro, CA and retired after 20 years. Millard was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Modesto, under the leadership of Dr. Peter J. Evins, Pastor. Millard enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching sports and mentoring others from the “In Between Fellowship” where he was a member for more than 40 years.
Millard went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 30, 2019. He was preceded in death by both his parents.
Millard leaves to cherish his memory his children, Shamae Velnice Judge of Oakland, Ari Eugene McCreary-Floyd of Tuskegee, AL, and Artisha Nakeba (Christopher) Hardaway of Atlanta, GA. Brothers, Arnold E. McCreary of Sacramento, Landy R. McCreary of San Jose, Sisters, Nafeesa V. Hasan of Stockton, Gwendolyn L. (Rev. Fletcher) Reed of Modesto. Grandchildren, Jania V. Nash & Dezman S. Kenner, Great-Grandchildren, Hasani N. Perry & Anthony N. Perry III, Special friend and guardian angel, Debra Chattmon of El Cerrito and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other family and friends, Millard will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
