Matthew Sahiid Johnson

Matthew Sahiid Johnson was born May 16, 1987, in San Jose, Ca and the following year moved to Modesto, Ca. Early morning of March 18, 2020, Matthew departed his earthly body. He is proceeded in death by his maternal grandfather Benson Peoples, paternal grandfather Johnnie L. Johnson Sr., paternal grandmother Elease Johnson, and his sister Dahvish Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Ashley Johnson, two children: Mya Johnson and Angelica Ramirez; his mother Elise J. Peoples, father John L. Johnson Jr., three brothers, Johnnie Johnson III and wife Nicole, Shawn Johnson, Daniel Johnson and wife Melissa, his maternal grandmother Mamie Hightower and step-grandfather Robert Hightower. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Matthew knew how to light up any room he walked into with his charismatic personality and sense of humor. He was very ambitious and goal-oriented. As he looked through the lenses of life, he knew there was more to the world than what met the average eye. He was passionate about being his own boss and strived hard to bring about his clothing line K.I.P.C, which stands for Kings In Plain Clothing. Matthew enjoyed playing basketball, skateboarding, watching movies, cooking, electronics, and learning new languages. Often times, he could be found in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, ranging from plant-based to cultural cuisines. His love for a healthy lifestyle was the drive of many of his plant-based recipes. If intelligence was a person, surely it would be Matthew. He had the ability to learn anything and amaze many people with his knowledge. Matthew also enjoyed learning new languages, such as Spanish, Punjabi,  and was working on self-teaching himself Swahili. Matthew believed in perseverance and would continue working on things until completion, which happens to be one of the many traits his loving wife admired about him.

Matthew met his wife at the age of 11 while they were attending Ustach middle school in Modesto, California. They began their journey as friends and over the years life would take them through different paths, but no matter what they would always return to one another. May 22, 2015, they decided to embark on a new journey together, holy matrimony and married their best friend. The two planned to be business moguls together by setting goals of business ownership (Matthew with his clothing line and Ashley with her Veterinarian dreams). They planned on owning property and setting their children up with a legacy all could be proud of for many years to come.

Matthew accepted Christ into his life at an early age and knew the importance of having God as the head of his life. His physical body has left us, but his memories will allow him to constantly remain in our hearts.
