JoAnn Hill Obituary

JoAnn Hill was born in Morton, TX on October 28, 1946 to the union of her parents Falvin Harvey and Lessie Mae Miller Harvey.

JoAnn worked for New Hope Post-Acute Skilled Nursing in the Human Resources Dept. where she retired after 45 years.

Prior to the passing of her husband, the late Rev. Frederick L Hill, Sis. Hill was the first lady of Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church in Turlock. This is the church that she and her husband founded. After his passing, she found a new church home with Second Baptist Church in Modesto, where she has remained a faithful deaconess and mission board member until her passing.

In addition to JoAnn's  love of attending church and working, JoAnn enjoyed working with ceramics and bowling. All who knew her, knew that her heart belonged to her family and most especially her grandbabies.

On February 1, 2020, the angels opened their wings and welcomed home a true child of God. With her family by her side, JoAnn went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by her parents, Falvin & Lessie Mae Harvey, her husband of 36 years Rev. Frederick L Hill, her daughter, Kim LaShun Hill and her sister Gloria Jean Harvey Love.

JoAnn Hill leaves to cherish her memory of her children, Stephanie Ann Hill and Frederick Quinton Hill both of Modesto, one daughter in law Michelle Hill, seven grandchildren,Telisa Williams, O‘shay Nicholas, Jasmine Hill, Alahnie Maxey, Marcell Maxey, Taylor Hill and Aailyah Hill  and two great-grandchildren, AJ Evins and Nevaeh Nicholas. Four sisters, Barbara Ann Roberson of Lubbock, TX, Brenda Oldham of Bryan, TX, Carolyn Harvey of Kansas City MO, Katherine Daughtry of Ft.
