Dorothy Ann Gipson was born February 20,1967 to the proud parent Willie Jackson and Ruthie Mae Webber-Hayden in Bakersfield Ca. She was the sixth of eight children. She was endearingly called (WANKY), and was known for her good looks, her nails, but most of all her boots collection.
Dorothy Ann knew the lord and was a woman of faith. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and was baptized at Union Baptist Church in Bakersfield Ca, by Pastor Brown. Dorothy attended schools in Bakersfield Ca, and received her education at Bakersfield High School. Dorothy also attended Nursing school at Bakersfield college. She later met and married George Gipson in Bakersfield Ca. on May 17,1991 and from this union was born five sons’ and three daughters’. Dane, Deondra,Michael,Dushunte,Erica,George Jr,Tarell, and Jacqueline.
Dorothy later moved to Modesto where she joined Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mark L. Dunham. She served on the Usher Board at Greater Zion Baptist Church for many years and was a proud servant of the lord. She loved her family and she enjoyed shopping, cooking, and playing her slots game on her phone and spending time with her Husband, children, and grandchildren.
Dorothy departed this life on June 8,2020, and she will be greatly missed by many. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruthie Mae Webber-Hayden, her grandmother Martha Webb-Harris, her nine uncles, 2 aunts, her niece Veronica Hayden-Nicholson, her nephew June Hayden, and her sister Betty Hayden.
Dorothy leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband George Gipson (of Modesto), her eight children Dane Newton(of Colorado), Deondra Johnson(of Bakersfield), Michael (Que’Mesha) Banner(of Bakersfield), Dushunte Peterson(of Modesto), Erica (Andre) Sample(of Modesto), George (Amber) Gipson(of Modesto), Tarell (Tahirah) Gipson(of Modesto), and “HER BABY” Jacqueline Gipson(of Modesto), Her sisters Eva (Randall) Dunham(of Modesto), Rosie (Derrick) Gage(Of Bakersfield), Ava Ennis(of Modesto), her brothers’ Willie George (Elizabeth) Hayden(of Modesto), Willie James (Brenda) Hayden(of Bakersfield), Eugene Hayden(of Bakersfield), and Ben Ennis(of Modesto), Her God Mother Tommie Lee Cannon(of Modesto), her twenty-two Grandchildren (all of Modesto), her nieces’,nephews’, and a host of relatives’ and friends.
