Donald Franklin Johnson was born on November 9, 1931 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to the union of his parents Benjamin Franklin Johnson and Mary Ellen Tomes Johnson.
Donald enlisted in the United States Army in 1951, where he served honorably until 1956. While serving in the US Army, he married Eveline Johnson who preceded him in death. Later, in 1963, he united with Yvonne Dorsey and her children Pernella Dorsey Lee and Valerie Dorsey Walton. From their union his only child Donna Michelle Johnson was born. Donald and Yvonne remained together until 1969.
In 1973 Donald united with Helen Austin and her children, Wanda Hall and Kevin Austin. They remained together until her death on December 1st, 2017.
Donald enjoyed being a truck driver and drove long hauls for more than 46 years. He also enjoyed, traveling and visiting casinos, dining out, listening to the blues, and spending time with his family.
Donald passed away on April 19, 2021 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents, his three wives, his siblings, Dorothy Johnson Hamilton, Helen Johnson Tucker, Evelyn Johnson, and Clarence Johnson. Nephew, Clarence Sterling Johnson and niece, Pamela Johnson.
Donald leaves to cherish his memory, his loving daughter Donna Michelle Johnson and son-in- law, Charles Clint Paramore Jr. of Merced CA, Children, Pernella Dorsey Lee of Pleasanton, CA, Valerie Dorsey Walton of Modesto CA, Wanda Hall and Kevin Austin both of New Orleans, LA, Melody Dorsey and O’Neal Dorsey both of Sandy Hook, MS, Charlie Dorsey of Oakland, CA, and Leona Dorsey of Oakdale, CA. Grandchildren, Dontill Michelle Lanall Johnson, Erica Aries Paramore, and Charles Clint Paramore III. Great-grandchildren, Osmund Nathaniel Brown and Thaddeus O’Neal Evans. Aunt, Mildred E. Sharpe, two nephews, Nathaniel Petty and Michael Tucker. Nieces, Angela Tucker Cooper, Lisa Hodge, Kimbrely Tucker and Laurie Ellen Johnson and a host of other loving family and friends. Donald will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
