Charlie Price Obituary

In Remembrance of

Dr. Charlie Frank Price

Reverend Dr. Charlie Frank Price was born January 21, 1940 in Syracuse, Kansas to Charles Omar Price and Ethel Doris Myers Price. He was the only son of eight children born to this union. On May 11, 2021, he transitioned from labor to reward, surrounded by his family.

He served in the U S Army for over seven years at which time he completed his GED. During his military tenure he worked as a Medic and a Sharpshooter while being deployed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1965.

He met and married, Elizabeth Ann Zegers in 1965 and they were joined in marriage for over 55 years.  During the early years of their marriage, while living in Kansas, he was employed as a Physical Therapist. Upon moving to California, he continued his career in the medical field working as a Surgical Nurse, at Kaiser Permanente.  Over the next 30 years, Charlie worked for several companies as an Automotive Mechanic, Machinist Foreman/Manager and Real Estate Salesperson.

Rev. Price accepted Christ and was baptized in 1999 after joining Seed of Joy Church, in Modesto, under the leadership of Pastor Archie Levias. Subsequently he accepted his calling to preach and teach the word of God.   In August 2003, he was licensed to preach the gospel at Delhi Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Peter J Evins and served as the Assistant Pastor for the next eight years.

In order to further his spiritual educational goals of preaching, teaching and spreading the word of God, he attended Sacramento Theological Seminary and Bible College receiving a Doctor of Theology in May 2005 and St. John Theological Seminary and Bible College, receiving a Doctor of Divinity in May 2008.

In 2010 he returned to Kansas and pastored two churches:  St. Paul Congregational Church in Bazine, Kansas and the 1st Baptist Church in Rozel, Kansas.

Upon returning to California in 2016, he joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, and continued to carry out the Lord’s calling on his life. Once again, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Peter J.  Evins, he served faithfully as the Assistant Pastor with oversight of St. Paul’s Christian Education department. In addition, he worked tirelessly with the nursing home and homeless outreach ministries. In 2020, he was appointed to the position of Executive Pastor. He served in this capacity until the Lord called him home.

Rev. Price was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who truly loved spending time with his family.  He was the “master handyman” of all times. In his spare time, he enjoyed making and selling wood crafts with his wife, traveling and sharing the JOY of the Lord when ever given the opportunity.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth Ann (Sue); daughters Joan A. Machado (John) Concord, CA, Christine Price (Gordon), Modesto, CA, Karen DeOliveira (Tony), Monroe, New Jersey and Tracy Price Nardiello (Douglas) Brick, New Jersey; Six Grandchildren, Charlize Elizabeth Price, Kaiden Cole Jonas Price, Christopher DeOliveira, Justin DeOliveira, James Kenny and Kristi Nardiello;  Sisters; Shirley Van De Wal, Sandy Price, Patricia Harwood, Linda Price and Barbara Cuddy Bianchi in addition to a  host of loving relatives, friends, a church family including his best friend, “the son he never had”, Rev. Dr. Peter J Evins.

Rev. Charlie Frank Price fought a good fight, he finished his course, and he kept the faith. He will be truly missed by all.
