Jairol Red Obituary

Jairol LaShawn Red was born in Amarillo, TX on February 15, 1980 to Linda Smith and Clarence Denning. He passed away peacefully on February 19, 2018 at the age of 38 in Modesto, Ca. A major turning point for Jairol was when he started attending Modesto Christian High School in the 11th grade. The Modesto Christian family welcomed Jairol with open arms and this gave him the confidence he needed to excel in many ways, basketball being one of them. MC's basketball coach, Gary Porter, bonded with Jairol and for the next 2 years Mr. Porters influence would start to mold Jairols humble demeanor into the man he was becoming. Jairols two younger brothers, Clarence and Joseph, also attended MC and had the opportunity to bond over basketball, a game that their oldest brother Calvin, instilled in them at a young age. All four brothers were very close and used sports and their love of God as a bridge to reach people and spread good will. They would stay in close contact as the years went by, they would all marry and start families of their own. Everyday they would speak and share their interests in things such as sports and cars, the latest Madden video game, dreams and goals, and life in general. Jairols oldest son, "Little Red," would grow to be not only a great sportsman, but also a young man with a beautiful calm spirit that mirrored his father's personality. Jairol married Kelly Red in 2003 and they had two children, Kasarah and Kane. Each of his three children are blessed with different parts of their fathers' personality, however, by looking at them all it is evident of the strength and passion they received from their dad. Recently, Jairol celebrated his 38th birthday where he was surrounded by a small group of friends and family. At this gathering he asked that people "pay it forward" in his honor. Jairol was a special soul who would put others ahead of himself daily, he made those around him want to be a better person. He was one of a kind and will be missed always.
