John Wesley O'Bryant was born to the union of Pete O'Bryant and Mard Brown on June 16, 1927. In the city of Huntsville, Texas where he also attended school. He later followed his aunt to Fresno, California. There he met and married Rose Lee Burns, to this union eleven children, were born. two sons, Sylvester and David, and nine daughters, Veralee, Maefrance, Josie, Emma, Lynetta, Marie, Asleen, Joyce, and Shella.
Later they moved to Modesto, California where he united with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Bolden. He became the head deacon and President of the Usher Board. He was a longtime member until his health failed him.
John Wesley O'Bryant will be deeply missed by all who knew him. God does all things for the best and we must trust in him and his infinite wisdom. He departed this life on March 27, 2019, in Modesto, California, at the age of 92.
He leaves to cherish his memory: 6 daughters Josie, Lynetta, Marie, Asleen, Joyce, Shella and 2 sons Sylvester and David, 31 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces, and his St. Paul Missionary Baptist family that loved him dearly, but God loved him best.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Lee Burns, 3 daughters Veralee, Maefrance, Emma and his parents Pete O'Bryant and Mard Brown.
