Earl Clinton Thomas Sr.

Earl Clinton Thomas Sr. was born on September 8, 1948, to Elnora and Eldriage Thomas Sr. and departed this life on September 11, 2019.  Although Earl was born to Elnora and Eldriage Thomas Sr. who preceded him in death, he was raised by his Aunts Mattie Carter and Christine Jenkins. As a result of this extended family, Earl became a son, brother and his sibling count increased exponentially combining the Carter, Jenkins and Thomas family. The Burnem family took care and continues to take care of their own. From that standard of care, AFNF was born to cement the bond and that legacy continues today with each one teaching one.

Earl C Thomas Sr. was a father. He loved and greatly influenced his children.  Although life was a series of journeys, Earl was resilient.  He survived many situations which led to his intense love for God.  He often spoke of the thankfulness that God loved him first.  A little known fact about Earl was that he was an ordained minister and versed in the word of God. A calling evident in his mentoring of his many nephews and their friends. When speaking to nephews and their friends they are always saying how much he taught them about this life. He counseled them through his battles and through his shared struggles he taught many.

Earl C Thomas Sr. acknowledged his faults, attempted to and made amends to friends, loved ones and more importantly made his peace with God.  His body will be missed but his spirit lives in the lives of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, his many brothers & sisters, nieces & nephews, cousins and loved ones by blood, love, and life.

Earl Clinton Thomas Sr. is survived by his children Lonetta Evans, Lisa Thomas, Zenterria Thomas, Tia Thomas, Eboni Thomas, Earl (Ruheen Ali-) Thomas II, Erica Thomas; sisters Sharon Thomas and Wanda Thomas; brothers, Larry Dorsey, Kenneth Thomas, 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother Melinda “Elnora” Thomas, his father Eldriage “Eddie” Thomas Sr.; mother/aunts Mattie Carter & Christine Jenkins; brother, Eldriage Thomas Jr.; sister, Melinda Thomas.  He also leaves to mourn his beloved extended family of brothers & sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host friends and his loved road dog Scruffy.
